Approximately 400 guests attended this year’s Legacy of Life Fall Banquet at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center on the campus of Grace College & Seminary. Guests heard from Indiana Right to Life’s President and CEO, Mike Fichter, and heard from Congresspersons Jackie Walorski and Jim Banks by video.
Executive Director Dave Koontz gave an update on the past year and plans for the upcoming year. The highlight of the evening was our keynote speaker, David Bereit. David shared a number of encouraging and motivating experiences and stories.
We appreciated Christi Ziebarth creating a Fine Art piece, live during the evening. Here’s a picture of the artwork (900+ -piece blade-cut mosaic in gold). You can find more information about Christi and her artwork on her website.
A big thank you goes to our emcee, Jessica Smith who stepped in for Pat Miller who was not able to emcee due to two back surgeries scheduled around the time of our event.
The evening also included presenting the Mary Louise Lowe Pro-Life Award to Knights of Columbus, Bishop Noll Council 4511 and SYM Financial.
We very much appreciate our sponsors who help make this event possible each year. You can find a list of all the sponsors and links to their websites here.
Thanks to the generosity of several donors, we announced a match challenge during the evening. Almost $48,000 was raised in donations and pledges which, when added to the $26,000 match challenge, resulted in a total of $74,000 (only $6,000 away from our goal of $80,000)!
