ProLife Opportunities for Youth
Pro-abortion advocates are targeting our youth with misinformation left and right. Here at Right to Life of North Central Indiana, we are doing everything we can to combat the lies prevalent in our media and culture by sharing the truth with the next generation, and encouraging them to take a stand.
We have a number of programs designed to educate, equip, and empower youth to stand against the efforts to devalue human life. These include:
High school and college-age young adults are invited to participate in our annual Life Guardians Training. They hear from influential ProLife speakers, participate in workshop sessions where they learn to intelligently discuss and defend their beliefs, and build community with other young people who share their values. The attendance more than doubled between our first and second trainings. Our next Life Guardians Training is coming up in February 2025.
- March for Life Trip Opportunities (State & National)
Each year, Right to Life of NCI financially assists a number of high school and college students from the region in attending the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. and Indiana March for Life in Indianapolis.
Right to Life of NCI has maintained a close partnership with Grace College in Winona Lake, IN for many years. We help build connections between Grace students and ProLife speakers. In September 2023, we partnered with Grace College’s Students for Life group to bring Mike and Lisa Davis of Deeper Still Northern Indiana as guest speakers to share their story and mission with students. In January 2024, we partnered with Grace’s chapel team to bring Brooke Martin, EMMY-winning anchor and reporter, to the student chapel stage.
The ProLife Leadership Academy is a program designed to take dedicated high school and college-age young adults (ages 16-24) to the next level in their commitment to ProLife leadership through monthly Zoom calls, assigned readings, and the opportunity to hear from guest speakers who play an important role in the life movement. Right to Life of NCI offers opportunities for passionate students in the region to start ProLife student groups at their high school or college. We provide numerous resources (like our ProLife Student Resource Page) and financial assistance to help these groups get up and running. We are also available to meet with students individually to help them craft action plans, brainstorm event ideas, etc. We also enjoy connecting with already-established groups to provide them with more resources, ideas, and support. Right to Life of NCI has already helped establish new student groups at Lakeland Christian Academy and Warsaw High School, and has supported existing groups at Grace College, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Columbia City High School.
- Banquet Involvement
We strongly encourage young people to be a part of one, or multiple, of our Legacy of Life banquets throughout the year. We offer discounted student tickets in an effort to encourage students to attend, as well as provide volunteer opportunities for set-up and tear-down to involve students in the behind-the-scenes work that goes into hosting large community events.
