Warsaw, IN – July 14, 2026 The Board of Directors of Right to Life of North Central Indiana today announced the beginning of a leadership transition as Executive Director Dave Koontz prepares to conclude a 25-year tenure leading the organization. Koontz will continue serving in his current role during
the search for his successor and will remain available for up to six months after the new executive director is hired to help ensure a smooth and seamless leadership transition.
Dave and his wife, Linda, joined what was then Kosciusko County Right to Life in 1990. During the 1990s, Koontz became increasingly involved in the organization’s leadership and was hired as its first executive director in 2001. Under his leadership, the organization expanded its reach, changed its name to Right to Life of North Central Indiana in 2013, and now serves nine counties throughout the region.
Since joining the organization, Koontz has played a pivotal role in advancing its mission, strengthening programs, expanding community partnerships, and enhancing its impact throughout North Central Indiana. His efforts have included collaboration with regional and statewide pregnancy resource centers,
post-abortion healing ministries, pastors, and other life-affirming organizations.
“Dave will be greatly missed, but we are thankful for his willingness to remain involved throughout the transition,” said Mark Piazza, president of the Board of Directors. “We are deeply grateful for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to Right to Life’s mission. He will leave a lasting legacy that will
benefit our organization and the communities we serve for years to come.” Koontz reflected on the announcement, saying, “I am thankful for the opportunity God has given me to be a part of this organization and for the many volunteers, board members, and staff members whose dedication has contributed to both my experience and the organization’s success. I look forward to being a part of a successful transition.”
To ensure an effective and successful leadership transition, the Board of Directors has established a Search Committee to oversee the recruitment and selection of the organization’s next executive director. The Board has also retained Avant Research to assist in identifying qualified candidates.
