Right to Life of North Central Indiana Banquet

Right to Life of North Central Indiana (RTL of NCI) successfully hosted its 30th annual Legacy of Life Banquet on September 21, 2026, drawing almost 600 guests to the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center on the Grace College campus in Winona Lake. The event was a major success, raising almost $83,000 in donations and pledges in addition to $71,000 qualifying for an announced match campaign, providing a final total of over $150,000 raised!

Keynote Speaker Shares Inspiring Testimony

Attendees heard a powerful address from keynote speaker George Dennehy. George, known as “The Armless Guy,” shared his personal story of being born in a Romanian orphanage. Rather than die in the orphanage as expected, he was adopted by an American couple and raised in the U.S. That adoption happened when George was eighteen months old. Today George has twelve siblings – nine of his brothers and sisters are also adopted, and they represent six different countries. George is also able to play the guitar (along with other instruments) and performed several numbers. His message that everyone has a purpose and anything is possible encouraged the banquet attendees.

Local Realtor and co-founder of Legacy of Blessings Adoption Foundation Phil Kuhn served as the evening’s emcee.

ProLife Leaders Provide Updates

Guests received updates on the state and local pro-life landscape from key figures:

Mike Fichter, President and CEO of Indiana Right to Life, provided a state update.
RTL Executive Director Dave Koontz updated the audience on North Central Indiana proLife activities and initiatives.
Brenda Whitehead, executive director for Heartline Pregnancy Resource Center in Warsaw, gave a report on the vital work being done by Heartline.

Mary Louise Lowe ProLife Awards Presented

Two Mary Louise Lowe ProLife Award recipients were announced. The first recognized Tom and Dianna Williams for all they’ve done for a number of years to support the pro-life effort and the banquet. The second recognized Lakeland Christian Academy for all the school does to encourage students and faculty to be pro-life.

Fundraising Goal Set

The banquet raised more than $150,000, with $71,000 qualifying for a dollar-for-dollar match up to $83,000. Funds raised will support and equip pregnancy resource centers, young people, and pastors, as well as finance the efforts to promote the Safe Haven Baby Boxes and the Safe Haven hotline number.
